Members of the Social Studies and Science Task Forces are meeting this week to work on turning the SLEs in those subjects into good Behavioral Objectives. They were introduced to the Z-chart as a tool and they are hard at work writing objectives. Why is it important that we spend time writing objectives? The clearer we are about what we want the learner to learn, the better able we will be to communicate it to them and lead them to success in learning it.

Last week’s facilitator training gave us all an opportunity to look at Total Instructional Alignment and the direction in which Fort Smith Public Schools is going as we look at alignment of curriculum, assessment and instruction. The wiki that was shared with you (tiafs.pbwiki.com) will be your link to resources that will be shared as we work together through this process. This blog is for facilitators to share ideas, ask questions of each other and collaborate throughout the process. Please feel free to use these resources and to suggest others.
